Hema Patankar brings to Vedika Global, Inc her Gurukula lineage and her sage presence as its brilliant, scholarly and steeped in Vedic traditions President.
Hema Patankar is an alumni of a traditional Indian Gurukula. She studied, practiced and worked for the S.Y.D.A. Foundation for 22 years, including 12 years in India leading extensive scriptural research, translation, documentation and editorial projects. For five years, Hema was the Executive Director of the Muktabodha Indological Research Institute, where she managed the development of the world's largest online collection of Sanskrit texts, nurtured a traditional Vedic school, led the video documentation of rare Vedic rituals, and brought two Shaiva Tantra texts to publication.
Australian by birth, she is at home with Indian culture and society, speaks Hindi and Marathi, and has a passion for the preservation of India's sacred heritage.
In India, Hema Patankar played a key role in organizing many Vedic rituals and yajnas. She studied the songs of the poet-saints of India with traditional musicians and devotional singers, recited Sanskrit hymns daily, studied and liaised with traditional pundits and with scholars from around the world, in addition to active, high profile participation in executive management in India and the US.
